The Arcade at UIC is a new visual data science space, located in the new CDRLC building (850 W Taylor St, Building 649, Room 1219).

Location

The ‘Arcade’ is housed in UIC’s new Computer Design Research and Learning Center (CDRLC) building. After commissioning and the installation of the audio visual and furnishing systems, final acceptance and occupancy happened in Summer 2025.

CDRLC, the new 135,000-square-foot, LEED Gold-certified building, doubles the department’s capacity. It includes 16,000 square feet of classroom space, an undergraduate learning and community center, and several research labs. A geothermal farm assists with sustainable heating and cooling.
